a prop staircase, a name scribbled on the wall, the eeriness of a long hallway with decaying wallpaint inside of the decomposing 'ministry of truth', as it were.
(Casa Scânteii is a monumental soviet-style building that, during the communist regime in romania, housed the main printing presses, the offices of many state-sanctioned publications, and other key media organizations - it was the epicenter of information production, censorship and propaganda.)
